Hello

Since the beginning of this year tv_grab_ch_search does not work anymore. It
finishes very quickly, and the result is empty. It complains the channels
are not available anymore.

Does somebody have the same problem?

Did the homepage of http://tv.search.ch/ change, and there for the grabber
does not work anymore?

thx

The grabber works fine if you update xmltv.exe, but the content has changed
so that ARD,ZDF,ORF etc are no longer available. Lots of SKY instead !

I can reproduce the issue, it appears to have started last night
according to http://www.crustynet.org.uk/~xmltv-tester/squeeze/release/

The grabber was last updated six months ago.
http://xmltv.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xmltv/xmltv/grab/ch_search/tv_grab_ch_search.in?view=log

Seeing that the last change was the switch to a legacy URL after
changes to the main site the breakage was to be expected.

That appears to be the case.

Depending on your use case you may be able to switch to the guide feed
from xmltv.se / tv_grab_eu_dotmedia which covers swiss and german
channels, too.

Or someone can fix the grabber.

Or someone can ask search.ch if they mind adding a proper API for
private and non-commercial consumption of the guide. Then a grabber
could be written for this which will not break when they change their
website. (After looking at their terms of service they don't mind
scraping or private non-commercial reproduction, so its worth a try)

Regards,
Karl
